Racism still alive in sports

How many years of college did Andre Aggasi have? How many years of college did Jennifer Cappriatti have? If you answered 0 you are correct. Now what do those athletes have in common beyond their sport. That's right their white. Now to clarify this blog I am a 27 year old White Male. So please dont say im pulling the race card. But if anyone has paid attention to the NBA playoffs this year you will see a common thread among the two of the teams best players. None of them went to college, and believe it or not they are doing pretty well for themselves. Why is it that we picked basketball as the sport that all of the sudden required athletes to start going to college? HMMM, the league had a image problem because their players had tatoos and got into a couple of fights. Another common thread is the majority of the players in the NBA are african american. Why didnt American Tennis mandate players attend college first after the drug fiasco of Cappiratti? Why because shes white. Plain and simple. We are telling 18 year olds that they can die for our country but they cant make millions of dollars doing something they are good enough to do so colleges can profit off of their athletic ability. And please dont tell me that the players benifit from the college expierence. Get out of here with that, colleges dont give a damn about their athletes, they make millions upon millions off them, then tell the athletes dont work to many hours at MCdies or you will be investigated. They typically take kids from a poor neighborhood force them to take classes with middle class white kids and tell them its for their own good. Yea cause thats much better then learning your trade on the job with seasoned veterans while earning millions of dollars that could secure their grandchildren's future.
